This is not the rockabilly I remember, amen. The striped socks, studded oxfords, tucked in shirts and rolled up sleeves seem to have some elements from last fall but the kinks have been worked out and it makes a clean statement. I think its also a bit androgynous which is always sexy. This editorial is a bit luxe but what I took away from it was a reinforcement of what we all know...

a. the details count. don't go through the time and energy to get dressed only to blow it at the last minute. if it seems like too much or too little, it probably is. If your metal is on your feet keep it simple around the neck and fingers.

b. you can mix tweeds and plaids as long as you stay within the same color pallet.

c. no brown accessories with black or grey. sorry.

post script. If you can't spring for the prada studded shoes this might make for a good rainy day craft corner project.
